IN vs. OUT

Well, I made it through my first week of commuting an hour both ways! It hasn't been all that bad--but school starts next week, so I may change my tune.
I'm slowly adjusting to living at home and I have to say, I love the free dinners and watching DirecTV that I don't have to pay for!!

IN:

- When you friends get engaged and you had to keep the secret (this Monday, one of my BFFs got engaged and I was there to witness it!)

- Dinner dates with the boyfriend and pretending we don't have work the next morning

- Marvel movies (I'm such a nerd)

- When people come to me for wedding planning advice

OUT:

- People that cut you off in traffic and then yell at you
- When one week seems like an entire month (this has been the longest week EVER)
- Living paycheck to paycheck #boo I just want to make ALL of the money
- I don't think I'll ever be able to "sleep in" (past 8:30am) ever again

Ok, so random thought. Does it ever seem like you can't get all of your life working together? Like everything in my job is going good, I'm staying on top of the blog, my room is mostly clean, but I've dropped the ball when it comes to working out. Why can't I get it ALL together!?
Next week, a new session of boot camp starts so Monday will start my attempt to "get it all together"!
Have a great weekend!

  1. Getting it all together, or as I like to think of it "finding a balance" has been hard for me too, but I'm working on finding balance in my life. Which has been good, but hard, but worth the progress.

  2. Completely understand! I feel that exact way right now that I'm able to keep this in check or that but over here there is a hot mess that I need to deal with. I just have to learn my limits and work within them to keep everything running smooth.

  3. Love this list. And isn't it crazy that people cut you off and always wanna give you the dirty look. I HATE that

  4. Dinner dates and Marvel movies are always in!
I feel you on the person cutting you off and then being rude -- it's a daily occurrence for me here because everyone in this city sucks at driving.

  7. I live at home and there are definitely positives to that, free internet, free dinners and free cable I call that a win!
I absolutely hate people who cannot drive and then proceed to yell at you as if it was your fault please.
It is impossible to have it all together, just as I seem to something falls to the wayside just the way it is!

  8. I am right there with you chickie! I just can't get it together lately but just keep pushing forward. You got this :)

  9. Allison, your blog is simply gorgeous! I too love to plan weddings, and would love to have that as a side job (along with blogging, of course). This is such a fun post, and would make an awesome link-up - if you ever do one, I will totally participate! If loving Marvel movies makes you a nerd - I am totally one. Superhero movies are my fave, as cheesy as they can be! And I don't think I'll be sleeping past 8:30 anymore either, since I'm a mom now (but I probably wouldn't be able to now even if I had the opportunity).

  10. I love In vs. Out. Such a fun and easy way to open up about the ups and downs of your week - and you are SO relatable!

  11. This has definitely been a LONG week. I love your "pretend we don't have to work tomorrow" attitude. Staying up late together is the best!

  12. I can never have it ALL together and I honestly don't think I will ever be able to. Everything comes at a sacrifice-like if I workout everyday and work 2 jobs I won't have time to blog, if I dedicate time to reading blogs I won't have time to read for fun, etc. Life is a tricky balance!

  13. I think that truly having it all has to do with your perspective. There are 293482139345908 million things you can chose to focus on in life, but I think when you prioritize a few different items- you can keep up with things better. Good luck :)

  15. One of the best things about living in Sydney is public transport and no traffic (trains) :)

  21. I definitely feel you on the money thing. I've been really freaking out about it lately, but Jaclyn Hill's snaps have been so uplifting. She talks about how a few years ago she was living paycheck to paycheck and then one day just made it. It's one of those things, you just keep working your butt off and hope things pay off in the end.
And I totally feel you on the getting your life together. It's super tough. I've been working on just trying to schedule everything. Or just prioritize the most important things and get all of those things done before I do my secondary things. It kind of works if I stick with it! Good luck!

  22. Totally feel ya with the week that feels like a month! Each day this week has literally felt a week long and I still have to work 5 more days before I get a day off :(

  23. I wanna hear the friend engagement story!!! I'm also apparently unable to sleep past 8:30 anymore. I guess it's good for productivity, but something a gal just needs her beauty sleep!

  24. I love Marvel movies too! I just saw Ant-Man last night, and I really loved it. I think Paul Rudd is so awesome, and I just laughed my way through it. I can't wait to see more of him! People that cut you off in traffic are always out. Ah! Hate it. And living paycheck to paycheck is the real life struggle *thumbs down emoji*

  26. It's so hard to keep with a regular routine once life gets super hectic. I could so relate to living paycheck to paycheck now as I'm paying a lot of money for tuition. It's so annoying!!

  27. It's hard to get it all together. I often ask myself the same thing!

  28. Girl I feel you on the getting it all together thing! There are weeks when I'm killing it working out, socially and at work, but my blog is completely forgotten. This week, I have to catch up on my blog, do some sponsored work, write two articles for my actual job at a magazine, pack for school, see my friends, get a tan and manage to run 15 miles, all before I leave for school on Saturday! Week from hell, coming right up!

  29. Congrats on surviving that commute girl! I did the same thing when I lived at home. I actually still go home from time to time to snag those free dinners, haha. And paycheck to paycheck, I feel ya!

  30. Getting it all together is hard. I'm trying to work on my career and new opportunities, get in shape, eat healthy, keep a budget. And it is JUST not working. It's hard. I'm trying to focus on one major one and then keep the others in mind but not make them as much as a priority. Hopefully the both of us can turn into Superwomen soon.

  31. I hate commuting but sometimes it's not quite so horrible. Last week was a long week thanks to being sick. I agree that it is hard to manage at times your personal life, blogging, etc at times. I have a lot of blogging goals I really want to accomplish this month, so hopefully my personal life won't get in the way. Free cable! Can't complain. Living paycheck to paycheck is something that I soon no longer have to do. I've been making goals to learn how to save better.
