In vs Out

I was a little lot busy this week with wedding activities that I didn't get to write one of my favorite posts: In vs. Out. So if you're curious about the state of my life after this weekend, read on.

IN:
Trying out affiliate links. Which means if you click on some of the links in my posts I'll make money (like a few cents) off of that click--I'm not so sure how it works yet, but here goes nothing! I'm testing it out in this post and will label all future posts with affiliate links so you know.
Long, fulfilling weekends--the kind where you collapse into bed on Sunday night and go straight to sleep and wake up feeling still exhausted but full of happiness--yea that kind.

Sunday fundays on the boat

Shop my necklace here

Having an excuse to buy a new Lilly dress (<-- affiliate link)

Rocking a speech that I was so worried about (btw, people laughed at my jokes!) Two glasses of wine and I could make a thousand speeches!
Watching one of my best friend's get married!

Having the corn hole set Josh built and my family helped me paint at the wedding

Selfie Sticks. We used our first one at the rehearsal dinner and no matter what anyone says, they are actually pretty handy!

OUT:

Having to go back to work after such a fun weekend

Realizing this is the last week I have to pack up my ENTIRE apartment to move back home with my parents

Not sleeping good unless I'm in my own bed at home

Heels that rub in all the wrong places
 ----
All in all, this weekend was one for the books! I had a blast at the wedding and wish the happy couple nothing but the best. P.S. I forgot my camera at home so these iPhone pictures will have to do!

  1. I clicked on your affiliate link, just so you could make those few cents! ;) Definitely do a post in a month or so to tell how the affiliate link is working for you. I'm interested!

    1. You're the best :) I will! So far it's really easy--but they don't send you anything until you reach $100--so that's A LOT of links lol

  2. Love that Lilly dress! I recently started affiliate links as well! Congratulations to your best friend! Also, I wasn't a huge fan of the selfie stick either, until I studied abroad over the summer with some friends and we found out just how helpful they can be!

  5. Sounds like you had a great weekend. I love going to weddings. I've tried a few affiliate links myself, and really only made a few cents. Here's hoping we get a lot more!

  6. I just earned my first check from affiliate linking! It's a slow process at first but once you get the hang of it, it's a great way to earn some extra cash!

  12. Oh gosh, good luck with packing this week! Packing is the absolute worst. I'm packing right now too, and I just want to roll around in the floor on my phone looking at Instagram instead. Won't this mess pack itself!?

  16. I use a selfie stick all the time!

But not in public because my husband takes it away. :(

  19. Hi there - fellow show your blog love member! I'm on your blog for the first time and it's super cute! I will definitely come back more often.
I do want to comment on this blog because I want to help you fully understand affiliate marketing.
Affiliate marketing is not a pay per click system, you get paid when someone buys what's inside the link. Like that dress up there, I clicked on it, but didn't buy. If I had bought, you would receive the said amount of commission that retailer is offering.
However - you MAY be confusing it with the pay per click system that often times 'influencer networks' select bloggers to work campaigns with brands and pay them based on how many clicks they received during that campaign. That, is not called affiliate marketing. That is basic blogging campaigns.
Hopefully that makes sense! That is why Morgan mentioned it takes a while, because first and foremost the brands you choose to affiliate partner with must resonate with your readers or you got nothin!
I speak from experience, I have about 8 affiliate marketing partnerships and I'm 100% positive the info I'm conveying is 100% accurate.
Definitely pay attention to your click through rates, and share affiilate links on twitter - its the best method for click throughs! Click throughs will lead to sales. Especially if the brand you're an affiliate with has a 90 day cookie span on it.
I hope that helps you understand better :)
    See you in the group!

  22. What a special time getting to watch one of your friends get married! And you looked lovely too :) It's always a good feeling hitting the hay after a lovely but tiring day though, there's something satisfying about taking off your shoes and just reflecting on everything (cheesy but true! also the time I chose to flick through any photographs I've taken of the day!)
