To Do

I absolutely love To Do Lists. I think I get this from my dad...he's made lists for as long as I can remember. The feeling of being able to cross things off the list is one of my favorite. If I don't have structure, I would lose my mind. Even something as small as a crinkled list keeps me on track.

Things To Do Today

  1. Consign Clothes. Over Mother's Day weekend, our dad took us all shopping. When mom gets anything so do I and my two younger sisters. (So much for being all about mom, but hey I'm not exactly complaining). Anyways, he said that for every new thing we got, we had to get rid of something in our closet. This resulted in the 13 bags of clothes now sitting in the foyer.  We are fortunate enough to have so much and be able to give to those who don't. We have two consignment stores that will take your clothes and give you money for them here in town. (And as a recent grad with no job or money, this is perfect!) One is immediate and one you have to wait until they sell. The clothes those stores don't take, I will donate. Win.Win.

  2. Take Laney to the groomer. Cue AT&T commercial. "...and then you would be too hot and then you would have to be shavedddd..." Well Laney has black hair and summer is only beginning in the South, so she's going to her fave doggie spa, PetSmart to be shaved and bathed. She'll thank me later....hopefully.

  3. Sign up for Barre Classes. I have to say that I am super excited about this. I'm not too good at exercising on my own and sticking with it, so I have to do something with structure. (kind of a theme here) Taking classes, I hope, will get me in better shape, keep me active,  and help me lose those last few pounds.

  4. Clean Room. This seems to ALWAYS be on ALL of my To Do lists. But this time it's a little different. Trying to gradually move everything from an apartment to your tiny childhood bedroom is a recipe for disaster and frustration. I and my family have accumulated furniture and just stuff in my absence and it has all found a home IN.MY.ROOM. So finding a way to make it all fit and work is going to be a struggle.

Without this list, I would just be sitting on the couch watching TV all day or eating. Both of which are not something that I need to do while trying to stick to my diet (WeightWatchers).  Something about a list motivates me and I get rewarded with the feeling of accomplishment. Everyone, in my opinion, should have a To Do list. Why? Because I Said So.
