Why Write

Who will even read it?

Who cares what you have to say?

All that work for only your family to read...

You're not an expert on anything.

I thought all of these things and even heard people say some. So why write? Why keep up with something so time consuming? And what do I write about? I'm no expert at really anything...except if you count having a good eye for design and telling people what looks good and what doesn't.

Well, to be frank, I don't really care if anyone reads it. Sure I love to look at the stats and hope that I have at least one reader or a new follower. But that isn't why I write. I write my blog just to write. I've always loved to write and have even been told that I'm pretty good at it. It's a creative outlet for me and for someone who is always on some sort of technology--it's easier to keep up with say a diary or journal.

Last January, while on the job hunt in the marketing field (social media marketing, journalism, etc.), my dad suggested I start a blog. After all, the people I talked to and interviewed with always asked if I had a blog--well no, but I've been meaning to start one was my answer for a while. My dad was just pointing out the obvious. Such a smart man. If they kept asking me if I had one, why didn't I just create one? Why hadn't I thought of that?  It would be a great way to showcase my writing skills and my personality. However, it wasn't until the summer that I actually got started.

And I'm so glad I did. I'm still pretty new to blogging and still struggle with what to write about, but as with anything else if it's something you love then you go for it--and who knows, one day I may make an impact in someone's life because I write.

I encourage everyone who loves to write and has been thinking about starting a blog, just to do it...because I said so!

  1. I love this. I used to feel this way myself. Why write, what do I have to say or who will read it?
I don't feel this way anymore. Writing is a great way to express your Unique "YOU"
I also have discovered that by writing I am helping others by sharing my stories and knowledge.

    Blessings to you :)

You have found something you really enjoy, I can tell. Keep it up. Keep on Keeping on. I like to read what is going on in your life. If you find something you really enjoy, you'll never work a day in your life.

Also, I want to know all about your new camera, the specs, etc... I know you will enjoy it.

Just remember, all this technology of communicating; social media, texting, etc... will never take the place of Human interaction. Talking face to face, visiting. One on one, family gatherings, etc... That's the best form of communicating.

Remember. "Keep on keeping on" with the writing.

    Love,

    Uncle Stan
